In rubber, activity sets scorch time, and a drift between lots is a drift in processing safety on your mill. Our low iron MgVanta CCM 98 holds a specified activity window verified on every lot, so your process chemistry stays where you set it. These four applications look unrelated and want the same thing from us: magnesium oxide that behaves in September exactly as it did in March.

The technical picture

  • Rubber compounding

    An acid scavenger and cure activator in polychloroprene and halobutyl. Activity sets scorch time, so a drift between lots is a drift in processing safety.

  • Paper

    An alkalinity and pH control agent in pulping and bleaching. Low iron matters because discolouration in a bright grade is not recoverable downstream.

  • Fuel additives

    Counters vanadium-induced corrosion and neutralises sulphuric acid in combustion. Raises the ash melting point, keeping deposits off hot metal.

  • Drilling fluids

    Contributes alkalinity and buffering in water-based muds, stabilising rheology against acid gases. Field handling matters as much as chemistry.
